Using biodiesel immediately reduces our dependency on high-carbon fossil fuels, making a direct positive impact on global warming.

The Combustion properties of biodiesel are also very much cleaner than those released by fossil diesel. Most diesel engines require little or no modification; and distribution is via existing networks.

Prio's farmers grow easily harvested, fully sustainable crops, with processing and refining taking place nearby. These low production and transportation overheads make a significant positive impact on financial and environmental costs. Our fully integrated, vertical supply chain makes best sense both economically and ecologically, and we are always looking to improve.

Current research and development encompasses:

• Increasing biomass conversion from current source crops
• Establishing new locations for source crop growth and refinery construction
• Developing alternative biomass source crops, which must be sustainable, safe and easily harvested
• Supplying new markets
